What to expect
Install day, without the mystery
Before the visit
Prep checklist
- Confirm the appointment window and a reachable phone number for the crew.
- Clear a path to the outdoor mount point and the indoor router location.
- Have landlord permission in writing if you rent and outdoor work is planned.
- Note any pets, locked gates, or building access codes the crew will need.
- Keep a spare outlet free near where the indoor equipment will sit.
On site
What happens on your block
You’ll know who is on site, why they’re there, and who to call afterward. Crews carry Connect Buffalo identification and stick to the scheduled window whenever weather and access allow.
Outdoor radios need a clear mounting surface and a path for cabling. Indoor equipment needs a stable outlet. We’ll confirm both before the visit when we can.
If you rent, landlord or property-manager permission may be required for rooftop, facade, or hallway work. We provide a plain-language outreach template when you need it.
Most residential installs take one to a few hours: mount or place gear, run a short cable run if needed, configure Wi-Fi, and verify a working connection.
Final monthly costs depend on subsidy eligibility, hardware scope, and maintenance tier. We confirm what is known before install day and flag what still depends on grants or partners.
You should leave with working Wi-Fi, a support contact path, and notes on what was installed. If something fails later, start at the Support hub or email the team with your address and what you observed.
