Grow the network

Host a site or open a building

Connect Buffalo grows when roofs, multi-unit buildings, and community anchors offer safe places for radios and resident Wi‑Fi. This page recruits property owners, managers, and host organizations—not a listing of live sites, and not a sales pitch for consumer plans.

Audiences

Who this page is for

Rooftop & relay hosts

Homes, churches, nonprofits, and small businesses with roof or facade access that can host a radio linking neighbors to a hub.

Landlords & property managers

Multi-unit buildings where residents need affordable access and you need clear permission language, insurance questions answered, and a single point of contact.

Community anchors

Schools, libraries, clinics, and neighborhood centers that can host gear or provide a trusted place for Navigator support.

Operations

What hosting usually involves

What we typically install

A compact outdoor radio and/or indoor networking gear sized for the site—not a cell tower. Exact equipment depends on line of sight, power, and neighborhood design.

Access we need

Safe roof or facade access, a path for cabling, and a stable power source. We schedule visits and document who is on site.

Agreements & risk

Written permission (and insurance language where required) before permanent mounts. We do not ask hosts to accept open-ended liability for unrelated neighbor traffic.

What hosts get back

A clearer path for residents in and around the building, local stewardship visibility, and a relationship with a nonprofit—not a surprise billboard lease.

Multi-unit & rentals

Landlords and property managers

Residents often need your sign-off before outdoor mounts or hallway cable runs. We keep the ask concrete: permission for specific work, not open-ended access forever.
  • Clarify who owns the roof, facade, and utility closets before promising a date.
  • Use our landlord outreach template when a tenant needs something in writing for management.
  • Institutional hosts (schools, libraries, city buildings) should also see Government & institutions for diligence language.

Express interest

We prioritize sites that unlock underserved blocks and that can offer safe, repeatable access. Submitting interest does not commit you to host—it starts diligence.
